Killington remains closed, but the next meaningful production window is arriving. The resort expects temperatures in the 20s Friday night and snowmaking conditions to continue through Sunday, with guns planned on Upper Great Northern, Reason, Rime and Upper East Fall. Superstar is also scheduled to return to production for the Killington Cup build.
Forum observations continue to describe a mixed early base on North Ridge. The earlier marginal runs left durable piles in some high-output locations while thinner production between guns has been vulnerable to warm weather. The most useful discussion is now focused less on a token opening and more on whether this colder stretch can connect and deepen the route enough to survive the next warm period.
A late-afternoon observation put the summit near freezing with strong wind before the better overnight temperatures arrived. Posters familiar with the system expect the colder weekend window to be more productive than the brief cycles earlier in the week, although wind and marginal wet-bulb temperatures may still affect where guns can run efficiently.
There is no announced opening date and no lift-served skiing yet. The weekend should provide the clearest indication so far of whether North Ridge is moving from scattered stockpiles toward a continuous opening route.
